This new catagorization thing sucks. I don't mean sucks like a baby with a bottle, I mean sucks like a prostatute with a new hundred dollar bill.

If your picture is realism, you get to have allll the fancy options you want, portrates, fantacy, people, groups etc etc etc. If you post photography you get so many options it simply confuses you. If you post american style drawings well you can just throw your art wherever you damn well feel like it. But if you draw in the modern japanese style of comicing, screw you, everything goes in one place.

The best you can hope for to define your origonal is to throw it into 'drawings'. Why no fantacy? Why not portrats? Why no groups? Why not even a fucking 'MISC' option?

Why? Because all anime MUST be the same. Then all the OTHER artists get pissy that everyone is miscatagorizing everything. You want to know WHY they do it? Because this anime catagorization system is degrading and insulting. It doesn't matter how many hours one can put into making a heart stop piece of work of a demon lord and his court and a fucking badass dragon, if it happens to look like it MIGHT be japanese style, into drawings with the rest of the googly eyed crap it goes.

DA went out of their way to make an Anime/Manga section as the FIRST bloody option, but once inside, gives you no USEFULL options.

Not all portrats are the same, not all paintings are the same, not all american stylizations are the same and they are never expected to throw it all into the SAME catagory. Why should anime stylizations be any different? You shouldn't expect these origonal and talented artists to. That's not fair.

The anti-anime thing DA has going around right now, is really grating on me.


If you think your art is being forced into something you belive it isn't, say something. Link the journal, make a stamp, post a forum. If we make enough commotion, someone has to listen, but you're only as loud as the noises you make.
