EDIT: I went back and fixed a few things that where really bothering me about this picture. I think I'm more satisfied now.

A mockup book cover for the FDA series. This probably won't be the actual cover we use (but hey, who knows, we'll see what people like) but it was good practice just the same. I was going for a more illustrative look than a photorealism look while still trying to keep a more realism than cartoony feel.

I've never actually designed a book cover before and could really use some input on what you guys think about the overall feel and layout. Do you like the style? Does the layout work for you? If you saw the book in a bookstore would you pick it up to look at it?

Note: the watermark (budgie.deviantart.com) Is not part of the actual cover, its just a watermark. If anyone is interested I'm selling higher res, watermark free, signed prints. (standard letter size for now) (The higher res has more detail, I know better than to post full size art on DA. Damn thieves.) Note me if you're interested.
